Andrea Bahoric, Director of the Bureau of Planning Research, PennDOT

Andrea Bahoric began her career with PennDOT in 2000 as a Transportation Planning Specialist Trainee. Throughout her career, she has held various transportation planning roles all within the Transportation Planning Division of the Bureau of Planning and Research. In these roles, she worked closely with highway and traffic data. For over 20 years it was her responsibility to manage several data programs within the Transportation Planning Division: the federally mandated Highway Performance Monitoring System (HPMS)Program, including the National Highway System and functional classification of roadways, Statewide Traffic Data Collection Program, Permanent Traffic Data Analysis and Collection Program and the Highway Transfer “Turnback” Program.
In 2021, she became the Director of the Bureau of Planning Research. In addition to the data programs, the added responsibilities of the oversight of the Department’s Geographic Information Division and Research Division were undertaken. These divisions are responsible for the spatial data for all PennDOT, Department mapping products such as the Official PA Tourism and Transportation Map, the federally mandated Research and Implementation Program, and outreach, support, and collaboration with local governments and organizations including the Local Technical Assistance Program (LTAP) and PennDOT Connects.
Andrea earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geoenvironmental Studies from Shippensburg University. She resides in Boiling Springs, PA with her husband Dan and fur kids, Harper, Cinder, and Milo.
