Emma Lazar, Process Lead, The Hershey Company
My name is Emma Lazar, and I am a process lead for The Hershey Company at The West Hershey Plant. I work on the Rolo, Giant/ XL Hershey’s bar, and Snack size Hershey bar lines. In my current role I work on continuous improvement, data analysis to determine root cause, and problem solving. Previously, I interned at the West Hershey Plant with the Packaging Systems Engineer where I worked on the Hershey’s Syrup, Kisses, Milk bar, and almond bar lines. Post-graduation, I started as a corporate packaging systems engineer where I got to see our Reese and Stuarts Draft plants and worked on the Kit-Kat, Reese cups, Fast Break, Mount’s, and Almond Joy lines. Manufacturing is a great industry to learn how things work, and to get the opportunity to observe how complex systems make everyday items.
In 2022 I graduated from Temple University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. I discovered my interest in engineering through the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE), where I became the body & aerodynamics lead and developed a reliable manufacturing process for high quality carbon fiber parts. Having no experience in the automotive industry, I thought the club where they built a car looked really fun, and it was!
In my free time I enjoy mountain biking, snowboarding, reading, and playing with my two kittens.
