This workshop is designed for those with an interest in improving communication overall and in particular, in group settings, large and small.  Learn how to leverage your communication strengths and how to navigate challenge areas common to many women in STEM with a lot to say and difficulty being heard among the many, often more assertive voices in the room.


Michele Washko has more than 20 years’ experience working for or advising enterprises of various types and sizes, ranging from startups to the Fortune 100. She has particular expertise in healthcare innovation, having worked for Merck & Co., Inc., in new product launches; as V.P. Strategic Services for the Life Sciences Greenhouse, an early-stage venture fund; for Geisinger Health System in its Institute for Advanced Application; and, most recently, as Founder and President of Life Science Innovations.

Functional areas for which she’s had responsibility include strategic planning, product commercialization, alliance management, marketing and communications, and finance. Ms. Washko has served on the board of numerous young biotech firms and non-profit organizations, and is a member of the Corporate Faculty at Harrisburg University of Science and Technology where she teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in entrepreneurship and healthcare economics.

She holds a BA from Emory University, an MA from Arcadia University, an MBA from Penn State University, and a certificate in Executive Leadership from M.I.T.
